We have 36 of the chit boxes here at the ski resort. We have witnessed them get progessively worse year by year.
In GENERAL, the old 488 piston port would go over 10k before a top end.
In GENERAL, the first 550 Cylinder reed motors would got about 8+ before needing a top end
In GENERAL, the first Edge 550's would go 4-8k before needing top ends.
Last years ('06's) were only hitting about 5k to 5.5k before burning down.
This years ('07's) we had burn downs as early as 1980 miles and we also had 4 crank failures this year.
Same riders (ski resort staff), same oil, same terrain.
Unless someone tells me that there have been significant engineering upgrades to this motor (and the gad dayum gear case, BTW) then we're going w/Doo this comming season. We're totally UNhappy w/out Poo 550's...and that's coming from someone that has (and likes) two Poo's in his garage.
Does anyone have any info about next years engines that shows me that there is some kind of improvement that will occur?
